Our Background
Park Meadows was started in 1986. Our intent was to address the spiritual interests of the people in the North Ellis County area that were not being engaged by traditional churches. After meeting three years at the YMCA, we moved onto our property on North Highway 77 in 1989. Additional classroom space was constructed in 1995 and a 450 seat auditorium was constructed in 2001. Adjacent land has been purchased on three sides of our property for future growth.
Our affiliation with other Baptist organizations
We cooperate with and support the mission work of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. More than 5000 churches across Texas join together for the purposes of reaching millions in our state who need Christ, providing college and theological education, providing for human welfare concerns, and addressing moral issues. Schools like Baylor University and Truett Seminary and ministries like Buckner Children's Homes and the Rio Grande River Ministry are supported through the BGCT. For more information, go their their website, www.bgct.org, or click here.
To read "The Baptist Standard," the weekly newsletter for Texas Baptists, go to www.baptiststandard.com or click here.
We also cooperate with and support the global mission work of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, which you can visit at www.cbfonline.org or click here. This network of Baptist Christians and churches cooperate for the purposes of doing missions, networking resources, promoting historic Baptist principles, and more.
How to Have a Relationship with God:
It's very simple, really. God loves you very much. Just like you are. And He wants to have a relationship with you. However, none of us is worthy of this love because of the sin in our lives (in the New Testament of the Bible, the book of Romans, chapter 3 verse 23 says that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.") In fact, this sin that separates us from having a relationship with God results in spiritual death, according to Romans 6:23 ("For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.") But here comes the good part..... "God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ (God's son) died for us," according to Romans 5:8. So, "if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved," as it is written in Romans 10:9-10,13. You may receive God's gift of forgiveness and eternal life by praying this prayer:
LORD JESUS, I NEED YOU. THANK YOU FOR DYING FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF MY SINS AND FOR OFFERING ME YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS AND NEW LIFE. I NOW ACCEPT BY FAITH YOUR GIFT OF SALVATION. THROUGH YOUR HOLY SPIRIT, TEACH ME ABOUT YOUR LOVE AND GRACE, AND ABOUT THE NEW LIFE THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN ME. BEGIN THE WORK OF MAKING ME INTO THE PERSON YOU WANT ME TO BECOME. AMEN.
